Opening Prayer

This is the day that you have made:

you have filled it with signs of your presence;

your Spirit’s breath permeates every moment;

your grace fills each experience;

your promises move within each event,

pulling us toward hope.

Receive our thanks.

Receive our praise, through Christ our Lord

for in his love we know your deep love

your faithfulness, your grace. Amen.

Confession and Forgiveness

The Holy Spirit calls us together as the people of God, in the name of the Father, and of the

+Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We are called to return to the Lord with all our heart. Let us

confess our sin and seek reconciliation with God and neighbor.

Silence for reflection and self-examination.

Merciful God,

you sent Jesus Christ to save the lost. We confess that we have strayed from you and

turned aside from your way. We fail in love, neglect justice, and ignore your truth. Have

mercy on us and wash away our sin. Create in us clean hearts for the sake of Jesus

Christ our Savior. Amen.

Closing Prayer 

Everlasting God, in your endless love for the human race you sent our Lord Jesus Christ to take

on our nature and to suffer death on the cross. In your mercy enable us to share in his

obedience to your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with

you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Blessing and Sending

God, who fills the creation with abundance, Christ, who spreads his arms in forgiveness, Holy

Spirit, who draws ever near to us, +bless you and bring you to life everlasting. Amen.
