Volunteers play a vital part in our ministries at St. Paul's serving our congregation, the Hanover community, and our Haiti mission.  Check out the posts below and search for Time and Talent (the search button at the top finds all of these quickly) to find a way you could serve at St. Paul's Lutheran.  Email or call the contact listed to find out more information or to get started today.                     



Romans 12:4-8 (NIV)

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;  if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.




Volunteer Your Time

  • St. Paul’s New Background Check Policy

    In an effort to continue to provide a safe atmosphere for the children of St. Paul’s, the church council has approved the implementation of background checks. Effective June 1, 2012, St. Paul’s will require all employees and volunteers, 18 years and older, who work with children to have a background check. Examples of volunteers will include but are not limited to Sunday School teachers, confirmation mentors and nursery volunteers.

    The Human Resource committee members are the only group of people to have access to this confidential information. All background checks will be paid for by St. Paul’s church.

    Please complete the Volunteer Background Check Form by July 1, 2012 and return in an envelope to the church office. This form is available in the office, downloadable from the  St. Paul's New Background Check Policy page on the web site (Stewardship tab– volunteer page) or with the May Communicator. If you have questions, please refer to the Background Check Policy or contact one of the Human Resource Committee members. The members are Ron Menough, Missy Thompson, Brad Delger and Janelle Savitski. A copy of the Background Check Policy is available in the office.

  • Prayer Shawls

    Prayer is a powerful thing!! If you know of someone who is in need of prayers, consider giving them the gift of a prayer shawl. We have many beautiful shawls available in the church office – each one comes with a card and the best part is they are free to anyone! This is a great way to show your love, lift up someone in prayer, and to let someone feel God’s warm embrace around them. See Helen or Stacey for more information.

St. Paul’s Background Check Policy: Effective June 1, 2012

In an effort to continue to provide a safe atmosphere for the children, St. Paul’s requires all employees and volunteers, 18 years and older, who work with children to have a background check. Examples of volunteers will include but are not limited to Sunday School teachers, confirmation mentors and nursery volunteers. A copy of the full Background Check Policy is available in the office.

A Volunteer Background Check Form can be downloaded, completed and returned in an envelope to the church office. Forms are also available in the church office.
