“Angels Unaware!”

posted May 29, 2013, 11:31 AM by Tracey Morris   [ updated Mar 26, 2016, 7:38 AM ]

In the past two weeks my life has been altered by an auto accident. For those who have not heard the story, I am fine and recovering from bruises and abrasions. However, I am alive and grateful for the extension of life which God has granted to me.

I do not know if you believe in angels or not. What I want to tell you is that I have no doubt there were angels watching over me the day of my accident. An eyewitness of the accident said “I saw someone lift him up.” As a vehicle was coming toward me—as I stood by my car—all I knew in my mind is that I had to get up onto the car approaching me or I would be killed. By the grace and mercy of God I was lifted up. Tim Hanson shared at worship the Sunday after my accident that I am not an NBA star and can’t jump 37 inches in a vertical leap. Although he is right, with God’s help we cannot only jump, we can do many things that might seem quite impossible. My hope is firmly placed in the one who can make miracles happen before our eyes. “O Lord our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

“Days pass, the years vanish, and we walk sightless among the miracles.”

It goes without saying that I have a new found zeal for sharing the Good News of God’s amazing grace, which is offered as a free gift. This God is at work on our behalf 24/7. God never gives up on us and cares for us even when bad things happen. As summer approaches it is a special time for us to plan vacations and other fun events. Please know that you can travel with the greatest insurance policy available. With God you are in good hands and his Son Jesus, our Savior is our Good Shepherd who will watch over us wherever we are each and every day. My sense of a divine presence is so much greater today. Life can change in a snap of the finger. It is reassuring and comforting to know that we are under the watchful care of our Lord and Savior.

As you plan for your summer getaways please remember the church stays open seven days a week. So, if you are going to be out of town we always accept your offering if mailed to the church office. Thank you for your faithful partnership in the gospel.

Our summer schedule started on Memorial Weekend with our first worship being held inside because it was a bit chilly. We look forward to all our worship opportunities for the summer.

Remember, summer will come and it will be warm before we know it. Enjoy your travels and may God protect you wherever you go. Go with God.
