Confirmation is on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00PM in Fellowship Hall from September through May for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. Meal Time: 6-6:30 Meal Cost: $3.00 (Mentors Free) Teaching Time: 6:30-8. Confirmation Goal: Provide students with the tools and resources they will need to learn and grow in their faith for a lifetime. We want to connect their faith to their daily lives, encourage them to serve others, learn Martin Luther's Catechism, and prepare them to publicly reaffirm their baptism. We utilize the Here We Stand curriculum. We have a 3 year rotational lesson plan focusing on the Catechism, Bible Stories & Living Faith. Each confirmand will be assigned to a small group of peers with a mentor (s). They will stay with that group all 3 years of confirmation. Mentors will share the confirmation experience with their group members and encourage their understanding as to who they are as Christians and their developing relationship with Jesus.
NewsSermon Notes are in the Narthex. Each confirmand is expected to complete 10 sermon notes between September 2011 and May 2012. 9th grade information: Faith Statements are due April 11th. . Reminder: if you have not yet done so- please get me a picture of your child at their baptism. We will be making a pictorial for them on Confirmation Sunday. Confirmation costs this year are $47 per student. This includes the costs of: flowers, pictures, and the gowns. Please make the check payable to St. Paul's and mark in the memo line confirmation costs. You can give your check to Tracey.Pastor and I will be conducting 9th grade interviews beginning on April 18th and concluding on April 25th- possibly May 2nd. MISSION TRIP 2012
Pastor will be leading a Youth Mission Trip June 17th-22nd 2012 to Joplin MO. This is open to all 2011-12 7th thru 12th graders. Planning meeting set for Feb. 15th @ 8pm- Fellowship Hall- right after confirmation is done.

During the six weeks of Lent there is NO REGULAR CONFIRMATION. Your child is expected to complete a Lenten Worship Note during the Wednesday night worship services held during Lent. They are at either 5:30 or 7pm. If your child cannot attend one of the services- please let me know. Their abcence may be excused. If they have an unexcused absence- I will have some make up work for them to do. Dates of the Wednesday night services are: Feb. 22nd, Feb. 29th, March 7th, March 14th, March 21st, and March 28th. Confirmation resumes after Holy Week on April 11th. Reminder: Lenten Service Notes R NOT the same as Sunday Worship Notes. Lenten Service notes are seperate and will not count towards the 10 Worship Notes your child is expected to complete. Lenten Meals Confirmation will be hosting 3 meal nights. The money we raise during these nights is used to pay for guest speakers and youth trip scholarships. 7th grade will be hosting Soup and Sandwich on Feb. 22nd. 9th grade will be hosting Taco Bar on Feb. 29th. 8th grade will be hosting Salad Bar on March 7th. Your child's mentors have information as to what time your child's group is expected to work and what each group is to bring. Children's Lenten Services: The following confirmation groups will be helping with the Children's Lenten Services: Feb. 29th- Schmidt/Chartier Group March 7th-Schmidt/Chartier Group March 14th-Brown/Franke Group March 21st-Brown/Franke Group March 28th-Edick/Hale Group If your child is in one of these groups, they can meet me in the Mary/Joseph room at 5:15.
